Julian Wasser

Julian Wasser (1938-2023) started his journalism career at Associated Press in Washington D.C. at age 14 while he was a high school student. He moved on to making crime photos as a freelancer for the Washington Post. After doing his military service in the US Navy on an aircraft carrier in the Pacific he settled in Hollywood California and became a photographer for Time Magazine. He covered Hollywood and the West coast of America for Time during the hippy years and photographed the pop art scene, The Manson Murders, the surf music sound, and disco and rock n roll. The era of Martin Luther King, John F. Kennedy and Ronald Reagan when southern California was at the center of pop culture.
