Joel Meyerowitz is the subject of a retrospective at the NSU Art Museum in Fort Lauderdale, titled Joel Meyerowitz: Temporal Aspects, running from October 5, 2024, to March 16, 2025. The exhibition features over 1,800 works that highlight his ability to capture the perfect split second, where shifting moments, facial expressions, and variations in light come together to create complete images.
The show revisits all the key moments of the artist's life, as also described in the book The Pleasure of Seeing. Conversations with Joel Meyerowitz on sixty years in the life of photography (Damiani, 2023), which delves into Meyerowitz's career through conversations with historian and photographer Lorenzo Braca. The book traces the key stages of his artistic evolution, from his early photographic approaches to his more recent projects, including his work at Ground Zero after 9/11.
