Tuesday, April 23 and Wednesday, April 24, 2024, the Minneapolis St. Paul International Film Festival - MSPIFF will host Sir Roger A Deakins, legendary cinematographer and Oscar winner, for a series of events open to the public featuring presentations, book signings, screenings and Q&As.
Tuesday, April 23 rom 6 to 10 pm MSP Film and CineMechanics invite you to a Minnesota Film Industry night at Machine Shop (300 2nd St SE) with acclaimed cinematographer Roger Deakins and collaborator James Deakins as they talk about Roger’s monumental career in cinematography, their photography book Byways (Damiani, 2021), and their popular cinematography podcast Team Deakins. This in-person conversation will be moderated by on-set photographer Wilson Webb. Co-Presented by CineMechanics.
Book signing
Wednesday, April 24, from 4.30 to 6.30 pm., Pracna (117 SE Main Street) will host Roger and James Deakins for a book signing for their photographic book Byways (Damiani, 2021). This is a ticketed event to moderate attendance. Ticket price includes price of the book and space during one of the allotted starting times (every 30 minutes). In collaboration with Magers & Quinn Booksellers.
Fargo – In Conversation with Roger & James Deakins
Wednesday, April 24, from 7 to 11 pm. at The Main Cinema (125 SE Main Street) join us for a film conversation, with Roger Deakins and collaborator James Deakins, followed by a screening of the Coen Brothers’ Oscar winning movie Fargo. Tickets for these events are on sale exclusively for MSP Film Society members starting Friday, March 15. Tickets will go on sale to the general public Monday, March 18th.
