In this latest book by the acclaimed photographer of ‘Detroit Disassembled’, Andrew Moore takes to the air to create an intimate vision of the High Plains. The “Meridian” of the title refers to the 100th meridian, the longitude that neatly bisects the country and has long been considered the dividing line between the fertile green East and dry brown West of the United States. Much of the meridian traverses America’s “flyover country”, those remote and sparsely populated landscapes with a long history of repeated drought and failed dreams. Yet other parts of the meridian overlap bustling and contentious zones such as the heavily fracked Bakken formation in North Dakota. ‘Dirt Meridian’ interweaves both these stories together: the enduring myths and rich history of a place where so little meets the eye, alongside a portrayal of those who continue to live amidst its vast and severe magnificence.

American photographer Andrew Moore (born 1957) is widely acclaimed for his photographic series, usually taken over many years, which record the effect of time on the natural and built landscape. These series include work from Cuba, Russia, Times Square, Detroit, and the High Plains of the United States. His newest book, entitled Dirt Meridian, is published by Damiani Editore and will be released in the Fall of 2015. The photographs were made over a ten-year period along the lands that lie west of the 100th meridian and addresses the history and mythology of this region known as “flyover country”. The book also includes a preface by the noted author Kent Haruf, as well other essays and an extensive set of endnotes. Moore’s photographs are held in the collections of the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum of American Art, the National Gallery of Art, the Yale University Art Gallery, Museum of Fine Arts Houston, the George Eastman House and the Library of Congress amongst many other institutions. He has received grants from the John Simon Guggenheim Memorial Foundation, the National Endowment for the Humanities, the New York State Council on the Arts, the JM Kaplan Fund, and the Cissy Patterson Foundation. Moore’s other publications include Detroit Disassembled, Making History, Governors Island, Russia; Beyond Utopia, Cuba and Inside Havana. He also produced and photographed "How to draw a bunny", a documentary feature film on the artist Ray Johnson. The movie premiered at the 2002 Sundance Festival, where it won a Special Jury prize. Presently he teaches a graduate seminar in the MFA Photography Video and Related Media program at the School of Visual Arts in New York City.

Pursuant to Article 5 of Legislative Decree No. 185 of 22 May 1999, if the customer is a consumer (i.e. a natural person who purchases goods for purposes not related to his or her professional activity, or who makes a purchase by omitting a VAT number from the order form), he or she has the right to withdraw from the purchase contract for any reason whatsoever, without the need to provide explanations and without any penalty, within 14 working days from the day of receipt of the goods.

The right of withdrawal shall be exercised by sending, within the aforementioned term, a written notice to the geographical address of the supplier's registered office by means of a registered letter with acknowledgement of receipt. The communication may also be sent, again within the same deadline, by means of a PEC or facsimile.
The consumer shall enclose with the communication all the references of the order (order date, order number, precise references identifying the party concerned, company or private individual.
The goods you wish to return must be undamaged and in their original packaging.

The consumer must also supplement the communication with his or her complete bank details in order to obtain reimbursement of the sums paid (current account number, ABI and CAB, CIN code; for foreign countries, the BIC and IBAN codes), which will be carried out as quickly as possible and in any case within fourteen days of the date on which the supplier became aware of the consumer's exercise of the right of withdrawal. As the only charge for exercising the right of withdrawal, the consumer shall bear the direct cost of returning the goods. In the case of payment by credit card, the sums shall be returned net of bank commission charges (2.5%).

In the event of a dispute, reference will be made to the competent court.
